Features separate male and female housing units, special needs and psychiatric accommodations, four court rooms, prosecutor and sheriff offices, and intake areas with drive-thru sallyport and heated concrete flooring. Highlights include a FEMA shelter, an on-site Emergency Management Operations and Training Center, and county maintenance facilities, all situated on a 40-acre site with two retention ponds.

YMCA of Hastings
A 90,000 square foot community facility combines extensive renovations with modern additions to create a versatile and inclusive space. The additions feature a 20,800 square foot gymnasium with an elevated running track, a 5,600 square foot child development center, a golf simulator room, an elevator for improved accessibility, and new restroom groups to serve the expanded areas. Renovation highlights include a remodeled and expanded swimming pool, hot tub, and sauna, an updated weight room, an adventure challenge area, dedicated spaces for cardio and aerobics, an updated lobby and offices, revamped locker rooms, and upgraded electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems to enhance functionality and efficiency throughout the facility.

Pottawattamie Arts, Culture & Entertainment
Intended as a multi-use and shared creative space, this project combines a 24,200 square foot addition with a 53,100 square foot renovation to a historic, 110-year-old building. A 282-seat theater and community exhibition/event space with a lounge area are incorporated into the facility. It also features an art gallery, ballet and music rehearsal studios, teaching kitchens, artist spaces, offices, conference rooms, and an outdoor patio.
Council Bluffs, IA
Spreading across 10 acres, this multi-phase expansion and improvement project features a giraffe barn, a new tiger house, anteater and monkey exhibits, and a cheetah run — most of which include individual holdings and outdoor habitats for year-round interaction between patrons and animals. Four new play areas are incorporated into the campus: a 72-foot splash stream, a climbing structure with a bridge overlooking giraffes, an indoor play place, and an outdoor climbing structure in the shape of an elephant. The project also includes a new main entrance, a café, event space, a 150-seat amphitheater, and a two-story Education and Conservation Center with seven classrooms.

The Lincoln Police Department area features a single-vehicle garage bay, interrogation rooms, locker rooms, and seven offices. The Lincoln Fire and Rescue area features a four-bay garage, ten bedrooms, kitchen, and lounge area.

This occupied city library renovation includes new flooring and paint, six restroom renovations, new ceilings, new large circulation desk, and upgraded lighting throughout the building. The library remained open to the public throughout the project.

Designed for growth and sustainability, the new construction of the 34,000 square foot, two-gate terminal accommodates 120,000 annual passengers. The interior glass walls allow visibility between ticketing, security, restrooms, baggage claim, and exit lanes. Resembling the Platte River, the terrazzo flooring showcases the region’s character and helps guide passengers through the terminal. The project features the airport’s first passenger boarding bridge, a saw-tooth roof allowing natural light with minimal heat gain, new technology, and additional parking spaces.

University of Nebraska-Lincoln
This renovation of the existing two-story 70,000 square foot, historic 4H building creates a new conference center with a 400 seat auditorium for the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Connected via a two-story link to the new Nebraska Innovation Campus office building, the open plaza between the two serves as the center of activity for the structures. It features a restoration of the original high bay trusses, conference break out rooms, leasable office space, and a ballroom.

This plaza and park project incorporates a meandering waterway design with numerous crossings and serves as a flood control tool for the city. Constructed with sustainable elements, it features public art, three fountains, a large plaza, a scenic overlook, an amphitheater with seating for 200, a playground, and paved trails that connect to the city’s existing system. The plaza stretches over three blocks and offers amenities for festivals such as restrooms, seating, audio and power sources, recycling/trash receptacles and lighting. The project includes the two-story Jayne Snyder Trails Center, a hub for city trail users providing public meeting space, restrooms, retail space, and offices for a community health organization.

This project is the product of a unique partnership between the Lincoln Public Schools and YMCA of Lincoln. The 243,291 square foot facility is noteworthy for its use of nearly every structural element available in the industry. The build also incorporates both indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a water track, a spa, and splash pad. More than 298 geothermal wells fuel the facility, and three indoor gymnasiums create space for intramural sports, tournaments, and other activities.
